Overview / Responsibilities
Woods's Mining& Mineral business has a potential opportunity for a Piping Engineer (PEng) to work with an international team on the detailed design phase of a mining project to start in January, 2018. Reporting to the Office Engineering Manager, this position is part of a project team located in our Oakville, ON office. This role will be filled contingent on award of project and will be responsible for providing design support on major EPC/EPCM projects. The successful candidate must be located within a reasonable commute to the Oakville, ON office. Key ResponsibilitiesPiping Engineering design related to mining and metal processing, specifically potash and chemical processingDevelop Piping Design Criteria, Specifications, Line Lists, Valve Lists and Specialty Items ListsDevelop Material Class sheets and Valve data sheetsPrepare stress analysis calculations (stress analysis with CAESAR II, supports and anchor design etc.)Prepare system design calculations (system sizing and hydraulics)Co-ordinate the piping design activities with other disciplinesDeliver a fit for purpose piping design for constructionAssist with the development of Process Flow Sheets, PFDs and P&IDsDesign and develop Utility Flow Sheets, PFDs and P&IDs (compressed air, fire water, fresh water, potable water, sewage, waste water etc.) in conjunction with Building ServicesWrite specifications and contract documents as well as review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracyAssist in manpower plans for capital projects as well as provide estimates for engineering output to appropriate clientsAdhere to project budget and schedulesDeveloping and maintaining positive, sustainable client relationshipsCoordinate and work with project team members in Canada and in Russia
Skills / Qualifications
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Mechanical EngineeringMust have PEng designationMust be able to speak, read and write Russian fluently7 - 10 years of related experience, with a minimum of 7 years focusing on mining projectsWorking knowledge of Russian design codes and technical specification development will be considered an assetAbility to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skillsCurrent legal eligibility to work in CanadaIn accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Accessibility of Ontarians with Disability Act, 2005, we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility in all parts of the hiring process.
